The course introduces students to the three pillars of engaging storytelling: characters, settings and plot. By reading, discussing and deconstructing examples from prominent genre and literary fiction, students will learn how to go from vague idea to fully realised story and gainan understanding of tropes, archetypes and narrative frameworks they can apply to their writing.
Through group and one-to-one feedback, students will learn how to edit, proofread and polish their work while finding their unique voice. In the final session, students will learn how to put their stories into the world by submitting to magazines and journals.
