Immerse yourself as Summer is on the brink with a feast of mixed media painting projects.
This 6 week course is aimed at beginners and improvers who wish to build upon their existing painting skills or wish to try something completely new. Painting projects are tailored to suit all abilities.
You will explore the world of mixed media painting using predominantly Watercolours. We’ll be using acrylic pens, fine liners and watercolour pencils to enrich and refine your watercolour paintings and week 1 will cover techniques so you can get the best out of your art supplies! We’ll also cover a range of subjects including sea-life, botanicals, fungi and desserts! You are most welcome to include your own subject matter each week if you like. The course curriculum is a guide.
Your tutor will be on hand to guide you through each project and give you personalised feedback throughout your painting journey here at Bexhill College. Week 6 is an exciting chance for you to draw on your experiences from weeks 1-5 and create your very own mixed media project. Come and join a warm and friendly atmosphere and let the creativity begin!
Materials List
Good Quality Heavy weight mixed media paper (Minimum weighting: 300gsm)
Watercolour & acrylic brushes (variety of round and flat wash brushes in small, medium & large sizes)
Graphite Pencils, eraser, ruler & sketch book
Watercolour paints & Watercolour pencils
Acrylic Paint pens
Fine liner pen/biro
Masking fluid
Acrylic canvases X2 (A4) - Optional
The above supplies may be found in high street stores including Hobbycraft, The Works, The Range, TK Max & local stationers. Online art websites & Amazon may be used to source materials or King Stationers. Park Avenue, Hastings. You’ll receive a 10% discount when showing your student card.
