This course is a part time in-service PGCE enabling you to train on the job.

The course is delivered by highly experienced tutors who will support you to develop your teaching skills.
To enrol on this course you need to have passion and enthusiasm for teaching and want to support young people to achieve. You will need a degree of professional qualification to support your support knowledge and GCSE Maths and English or equivalent at grade C/4 or above.
(If you don't have English and Maths there are equivalency online exams that can be completed before you enrol)

This route into teaching is hard work as you are working and studying at the same time but it prepares you well for a rewarding career in teaching.

We have high expectations, and we will support you to be the best you can. As an in-service trainee teacher, you will either already be teaching, be about to start a teaching role, hold a TA trainee position (where you have supervised teaching opportunities) train or teach adults, or you may have some voluntary teaching hours. Bexhill College can also offer teaching placements in a wide range of subject areas such as Criminology, Psychology , Sociology, Travel and Tourism, Geography and Geology, Business, Economics, Law, Sciences, Engineering, Animal Management, Arts, Media, Drama, Musical Theatre, Production, Music, E- sport , French, German, Spanish, English, History, Classical Civilisation, RS, Health and Social Care, Nursing, Early Years, Catering, Hospitality, Hairdressing and Beauty to mention a few.
Bexhill College has a reputation for good results, strong relationships between staff and students and excellent support services. As a trainee teacher you will receive high quality mentoring from experienced teachers.
The qualification is awarded by the University of Brighton but delivered at Bexhill College. Once accepted on the course by Bexhill College, you will enrol as a Brighton University student.
On successful completion of the course if you have a degree, you will be awarded a Graduate Certificate of Education (level 6). If you have a professional qualification rather than a degree, you will gain a Certificate of Education (level 5). Both awards are recognised teaching qualifications in the post sixteen sector. Once qualified, all graduates can complete QTLS through Society of Education and Training.
The course is usually eligible for student loan even if you have already had a student loan for a degree. Information will be provided at the information evening.
