Level 4 (20 credits) Validated by Canterbury Christ Church University (Grade 1 Teacher Training Ofsted 2014)
This course is made up of the first module of the Diploma in Education and Training (DET) programme. It prepares students to teach in the Further Education and Skills Sector (FESS). The broad aim of the module is to provide a thorough preparation for teachers and trainers who want to work in the Further Education sector in terms of their knowledge, skills and professional attributes. It provides an opportunity for people who are considering teaching in the post-16 sector (14 years plus) or those who do not have the required teaching hours for the Diploma in Education and Training, to achieve the Introductory Award in Teaching. Successful completion of the award can (subject to the required teaching hours) leads to entering the DET programme at module 2.
Assessment
Students will be assessed by reflections, assignments, a micro teach, peer observations, presentations, essays, group work and a progress log. All students are required to achieve module assignments and tasks, which are assessed using the module learning outcomes and level 4 academic standards.

The fee for the course is £660. You are also expected to pay the deposit of £30.
