Course content
The course aims to get you ready to be able to start your career, making work for yourself rather than waiting to be discovered! We will support you to gain the skills and make the networks to make it possible for you to make a living from your passion
.
It has been designed to fit around your life and will run one full day and one twilight session per week in college. We will support you to find fulfilling work experience to enhance your CV and hone your work skills for the Performing Arts industry. If you are already in a job in the Performing Arts we can use some of those hours to count towards your work experience units.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through a range of practical projects which you will deliver out in the community. This will be supported by reflection on your process which can be submitted either as a written logbook or through presentation.

What could I do next?
After the course you might want to continue in education and go onto a degree programme or if you are ready to create and deliver your own work you could move onto the world of work.

Are there any special expenses?
Course fees are £5000 a year for which a student loan can be applied for. Students will need to cover the costs of travel to placement as well as the usual materials required for study i.e. folders and stationary. During the course you will be expected to watch theatre productions, provide costumes and take advantage of workshops from professionals that we offer. All of these will come at an additional cost.

Entry requirements
You will need a GCSE English at C or be willing to work towards one during your time on the course. It is expected that you will have completed an Extended Diploma in Music or Performing Arts a minimum of 48 UCAS points is required to study this course or have a Level 3 profile that includes a performance based subject.

Additional information
This is a two year course which leads to a full HND a level 5 qualification in its own right but could also gain you access to the third year of a degree course. It is a cost effective alternative to University or Drama/Music school training at only £5000 per year which you would be able to apply for student finance for.
